MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work as a team member responsible for the ownership of production database solutions for multiple clients, including support of nightly processing.
• Provide technical expertise and best practices for database support, load monitoring, job control, and overall client support.
• Assist client during user acceptance testing and on-boarding of the hosted solution.
• Support production clients by researching and responding to data questions, support related incidents/tickets, and help with business processes understanding.
• Work with Data Architects to build scalable database solutions.
• Work with Database Administrators to address any performance issues.
• Develop & support data validation systems, metadata and ETL infrastructure.
• Modify existing database schemas to support changes while maintaining overall data integrity.
• Develop and support the data hygiene and customer matching routines.
• Develop and implement data archiving and back up strategies.
• Provide documentation on operation run book, support guide and update the existing documentation to reflect changes in the database.
• Lead ETL enhancement initiatives to provide long-term database durability and scalability.
• Serve as a quality checkpoint by executing both unit and system plans.
• Train and mentor junior team members.  Provide technical direction in a strong team environment.  

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work directly and effectively with clients.
• Strong problem solving skills, able to find the root cause of issues and quickly provide solutions.
• Experience supporting large user base.
• Expertise on SQL Server 2005 and 2000 database environment is a must, MySQL, Oracle and / or Netezza would be a plus.
• Experience working in complex production database environments which involve complex business process, multiple data sources, load processes, etc.
• Excellent ETL skills including development experience with DTS and SSIS packages, stored procedures, and T-SQL.
• Strong data analysis and profiling skills.
• Experience in implementing data hygiene and address management applications.
• Ability to prioritize & work independently.
• Experience on database maintenance, performance tuning and administration techniques.
• Exposure to VB Script, .NET and XML a plus.
• 5 years of database support with a minimum of 2 years experience developing databases is required.
